FLOW-TURN’s Square-Turn belt curves utilize a row of cylindrical end rollers (“Pucks”) that replace the tapered end rolls of traditional powered belt curves. As a result, Square-Turn curves have narrow, parallel belt-to-belt transitions to and from adjacent conveyors. In contrast, belt curves with tapered pulleys have an uneven, trapezoidal transfer gap which often requires the use of transfer plates for safety and functional reasons.

FLOW-TURN’s pucks are the same size, no matter what curve radius or belt width – belt curves with tapered rollers require a different end roller for each variation of radius or width. Square-Turn curves with varying width or radius can utilize the same end roll parts. For large facilities, the savings in spare parts are significant.

The frame height of Square-Turn curves is less than with tapered pulley curves. This is beneficial for ceiling hung curves and curves mounted low on the floor.

Flow-Merge FMFW conveyors have a unique design that utilizes a full width (“FW”) belt that is folded around an angled knife roll to create a triangular transition arrangement with another conveyor. This allows for merge or spur applications at 45-degree and 30-degree angles, making these excellent junction conveyors in baggage handling systems. The belts are laced and easy to replace without having to open the frame of the conveyor, making this a low maintenance and heavy duty option.

Ticket Counter Curves in public view often require stainless steel shrouding. FLOW-TURN can offer Square-Turn, Spiral-Turn and Flat-Turn belt curves with stainless shrouds.

Pictured here is a Flat-Turn curve which is friction driven by a motorized drive pulley (VDG drum motor) and mounted on heavy duty casters. This curve has a very small footprint due to the internal drive and the casters, which allows for it to be easily rolled out for maintenance.
